The International Book Biennial of São Paulo is the great book moment in Brazil. It is the stage for the meeting of the principal publishers, bookstores and distributors in the country, which prepare their launches for this period.
A place for good businesses! It attracts journalists, businessmen and writers from all over the world and has excellent visibility in media.
Besides the wide book offering, the Book Biennial offers an intense cultural program, developed to awaken the taste for reading in more than 743 thousand people, among children, youths and adults. Some activities are projected to personalize even more the program, during the 11 days of the event.
The initial numbers already allow foreseeing that the 21st International Book Biennial of São Paulo will be a milestone in the history of the Biennials:
Pavilion with an area of 60 thousand m²
- Ceiling with new insulation;
- Improvements in the illumination;
- Totally leveled floor;
- Renovated bathrooms;
- Electronic parking system, among others.
350 national and foreign exhibitors, representing more than 900 publishing houses;
Expected public of more than 700 thousand people;
School visitation programmed to receive more than 180 thousand Primary and High School students;
R$ 1,5 million investment in the event-specific cultural program specific;
Concerned with forming new readers, the organization invested R$ 30 million in the promotion and disclosure of the event;
One day of the program (August 12) exclusively for visits of professionals from the sector, which contributed to stimulate business and value the editorial market, with about 4,500 professional buyers from the sector;
288 thousand children present. Of these, 134 thousand were at the Book Biennial through the scheduled school visitation program;
80% of the interviewees, in a survey carried out by Instituto Datafolha, bought books, with an approximate individual average expense of R$ 90,00.
