Marian Keyes is an Irish writer. She graduated in Law from Dublin University, without, however, ever having exercised the profession. She lived in London for many years, working alternately as a waitress and in offices. In this same period, she began her fight against alcoholism addiction, and also a suicide attempt[1], and after winning the battle, achieved success as a writer. The author of several best sellers of the Chick Lit genre, her books explore the feminine universe with much humor and lightness. Their central themes, however, bring to light many delicate subjects, such as: mourning, postpartum depression, domestic violence ... The characters created by the writer have realistic profiles, which allow the reader to identify with the path of the life narrated.
